Shanice's Profile

I hold a Masters Degree in Public Sector Strategy and have over 30 years experience in a professional capacity, executing Economic Development, Regeneration, Business training, Business start-ups, Equal Opportunities and Community Engagement plans, across the public, private and charity sectors. For the past 20 years, in a voluntary capacity, I have been managing the Starlight Music Academy, a platform for engaging young people.

I’m a self-motivated, a professional PRINCE 11 project manager with the ability to respond to challenges in a dynamic, pragmatic and efficient manner and possess a plethora of transferable skills.

Worked within large national organisations at a senior level and acquired a reputation for being an innovative high performer.

Background in managing high performance projects, excellent project management and sales skills evidenced by a strong track record of designing and implementing multi million pound programmes and closing deals

I consistently deliver to a high standard and have an inherent drive for excellence and quality outcomes. Possess a natural aptitude for sales, motivating others and leading by example as well as being a valued member of a management team

Possess the gravitas required to manage talented multi professional teams and the confidence to let talent shine through. Considered a solutions focussed manager with strong contract acumen.

Since semi-retiring I have honed in my creative talents and become one of the very few Black female film directors in the UK, an industry that is still very male dominated. “Women in the film industry are still woefully underrepresented to this day” The British Film Alliance.

I have gone against the grain to make my mark as an independent UK female film-maker. Undeterred by the underrepresentation I set up Platinum Cat Productions, an independent film making company and with a combination of self-financing and local charitable support, I have successfully co-written and co-directed several productions, that are being promoted in schools and screened in community centres as a learning resource in diverting young people away from drugs and the bling lifestyle. I have also recently produced a song entitled Beautiful Africa, an educational song that puts the names of 55 African countries to song.

Within the context of my extensive skills set, successful career, movie making and creative documentary making production abilities, I am pursuing new roles and a new future in Africa. I am also able to bring along a team of highly specialist technical diaspora personnel from England, who are ready for business, ready to travel and keen to do businesses in Africa.
